Handling Issues With Border Security

In the debate over the current situation with illegal immigration, many organizations see the problems in different ways. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, for example, has cited a number of issues that they attribute to the current level of unauthorized entry into the country.

One of the problems that the Federation for American immigration reform will highlight is the way that citizen wages and working conditions are hurt because employers discriminate in favor of cheaper, illegal immigrant labor. They also point out how businesses that don’t hire illegal immigrants will have an unfair advantage over the companies that follow the law.

Some of the other issues that the Federation for American immigration reformhas referenced include the way that illegal immigrants in schools will require extra resources and support which could hurt the experience for other students. Along those lines, they have pointed out how many landlords have created slum conditions in different neighborhoods by filling them with immigrants, often beyond the numbers allowed by local laws.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform has even pointed out that the current number of immigrants can also cause a lot of environmental stresses. When the population increases in sudden jumps, it is difficult for the environment to cope.

Not all organizations agree with these assessments, and others point out that there are a number of benefits that outweigh the problems. The debate will continue, though, and these problems and possible solutions will likely go through many evaluation and re-evaluation periods. FAIR and these other organizations will continue to campaign in support of their own agendas until they reach an agreement.
