Playing Warcraft Undead: How to Level a Warlock
The Warcraft undead race is a very popular choice for players who opt to roll their characters on the Horde side. These once living denizens offer a rich back story and lots of role playing potential, not to mention great class choices like the warlock. Before you attempt to make a new Warcraft undead warlock, it is important to understand a little about the class and the best ways to gain experience.
An Overview of the Undead Warlock
The name of this Warcraft undead class alone sounds intimidating. However, if played correctly they can be even more than that. What you should know before you begin is that the warlock is not a class that offers a lot of damage at once. Instead, you have to learn to hone your play skills to let the warlock damage over time spells work. If done correctly you can become an asset to your raid as well as to your player versus player team.
What is a Damage Over Time?
Prior to rolling your Warcraft undead, you have probably heard the term “DoT” used before. This means the same no matter what MMO you are playing. The letters stand for “damage over time,” and spells that fall into this category do just that. When you cast the spell, your target doesnt take much damage at first, however over the next so many seconds, the target will be repeatedly hit for a set amount of damage in intervals. Maximum Effectiveness when using DoTs
As you level up your Warcraft undead, you will get better at using the warlock DoT spells. It is important to use them as efficiently as possible. The warlock is not a heavy armor wearer. That means it is vital you kill your target before it reaches you. The best way to do this is to use your warlock debuff. This will strip the target of any stat enhancing buffs, making them more vulnerable to your attack.
While your DoT works, use your Shadow bolts and pets to help your opponents health points tick down faster. It is important to do this quickly because, even though you are a Warcraft undead, you can still die!
The Benefits of High Level Warlocks
Some people love the warlock class because at level 40 they earn a free mount. 60 is another important level for your Warcraft undead because this is when the epic quest chain can be started. You can level up quickly if you learn how to conserve mana and use your skills at the appropriate times without hesitation.
Grouping your Warlock
If playing this Warcraft undead class in groups, make sure you know what you should be doing to help out. At any given time, your warlock should be either casting damage over time on any elite or high hit-point creatures your group is fighting, or dealing direct damage to the add (or non-elite) creatures that come with them. In time, you will learn the best ways to fight through practice. Be patient and make sure you get a lot of solo and group time in to better your skills and become one of the best Warcraft undead players on your server.
