Stun Guns

In many cities across the country, law enforcement, which has long been considered recession proof, is under fire. Officer layoffs and unfilled vacancies are making it more difficult for police agencies to perform at the best. Security departments at many at many private businesses feel the same way, as tightening budgets threatened training programs, and positions. As both public and private-sector organizations look for cost efficiencies and force multipliers in the face of dwindling financial resources, more are turning to private means of protection.

When one thinks about private protection and security for ones home or office for that matter, we have to think about things like the taser, stun guns, and even security cameras in the home or office area.

We seem to have a very lax government when it comes to crime. In a recent poll, sixty three percent of those polled said the governments anti-terror policies lean too far in protecting the civil right of the individual rather than the security of the country.

Also, the poll revealed that people preferred the police being able to single out people who look Middle Eastern for screening and questions.

In the old days, before security cameras and smart cards, there were buildings and watchmen. Often after dark, the watchman would walk around, armed with a flashlight and a watchman’s clock, to protect the property.

Now we face dangers than cannot be dealt with by a watchman with a clock, we have come to a time that requires us to take care of ourselves.
