Every little kid, deep down, loves a good train set. A model train set is a child’s way of building their own little world in many ways. It allows them to control their own train and track. A community that did not have access to a nearby railroad, would have difficulty getting the goods produced within that community outsourced to other communities that needed their goods.
The model train set should reflect the historical value of what railroads meant to those who used them in the historical context. They also have the potential to become a huge hobby that allows for the builder to continually grow his track and his community surrounding the railroad. Building with these two concepts in mind, leaves much room for the imagination and to think up an awesome concept. The only thing left is to spend the countless hours perfecting your plan. Once you know what you want to do with your tracks, all that is left is the stage of putting it all together and making the imagination flesh out into a real concept that enables people to gain both historical values and also be entertained by the great concept of a railroad community.
